Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
On arrival at Delhi International Airport .Meet and Greet by our company representative transfer to Hotel. Overnight at hotelDay 2: Delhi - Agra – (225 Kms)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Agra approx 4 Hours Journey through Yamuna Express .Check In hotel . Refresh yourself at .Later proceed for sightseeing of world famous Taj Mahal (closed on Friday) and Agra Fort. Taj Mahal-its eternal beauty astonishes and mesmerizes one and all. Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan built Taj Mahal in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. Red Fort- the seat of Mughal Empire - built by the three generations of Mughal Emperors between the year 1565 and 1573. This Grand fortress of red sandstone along with huge ramparts surrounds a treasury of architectural masterpieces and craftsmanship - the audience hall, royal pavilions, palaces, mosques and charming gardens. Generations of Mughal Emperors lived here have left their own distinct mark on the architecture. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.Day 3: Agra - Bhopal - [6 hours by Shatabadi Express train]
Morning after breakfast, transfer to Agra railway station to board train for Bhopal. Meet/assist upon arrival and transfer to Hotel. Afternoon visit of Central Museum and Gandhi Hall. Dinner Overnight at the Hotel.Day 4: Bhopal – Sanchi (45 Kms) then to Bhimbetka (90 Kms) & then to Bhopal (45 Kms). Bhopal to Lucknow (by overnight train-11 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast, half day excursion to Sanchi which is one of the most beautiful Buddhist sites
in India. (The museum is closed on Mondays). After visiting Sanchi, drive to Bhimbetka, to see the very
well preserved prehistoric cave paintings.
On arrival at Lucknow Station . Meet and Greet transfer to hotel . Refresh at Hotel .After breakfast
drive to Sravasti where Buddha stayed after his awakening and is said to have performed several miracles. Rest of the day free. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel.Day 6: Sravasti - Balrampur - Lumbini – (180 Kms)
Morning after breakfast, visit The Ananda Bodhi Tree under which Lord Buddha mediated for a night and is said to bless the devotees who mediate under it as it was specialized by Lord Buddha himself. Also visit Jetavana one of the most famous of the Buddhist monasteries in India.
Later drive to Lumbini approx 5 Hours (where Buddha was born in 624 BC) Enroute visiting Balrampur. Lumbini is in Nepal and one has to cross the border at Sunauli After crossing the India/Nepal Boarder for Visa/Immigration formalities, to continue on to Lumbini. Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.Day 7: Lumbini- Kushinagar – (175 Kms)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Kushinagar approx 175 kms/ 5 Hours (where Buddha died at the age of 80 years) and upon arrival, transfer to Hotel. Refresh and Lunch at Hotel Later stroll through the town to see the Nirvana stupa, put up in the 5th century,which marks the spot where Buddha died. Overnight at the Hotel.Day 8: Kushingar - Vaishali - Patna – (260 Kms)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Patna 260 kms /7 Hours En route stop in Vaishali to visit the pillar of Ashoka, the stupas, Bawan Khotar temple and Chaukuki Mahadeva. Upon arrival in Patna, transfer to Hotel. If time available, you can go for museum visit. Items on display include archaeological objects, coins, art objects, paintings, instruments, textiles, paintings, thankas, bronze images, sculptures and terra cotta images by Hindu and Buddhist artists. The fossil of tree said to be more than 200 million years old is also on display.Dinner & Overnight in hotel.Day 9: Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir - Bodh Gaya – (180 Kms)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya enroute visiting Nalanda where the Gupta Dynasty set up one of the biggest University on earth. The University was an important Buddhist centre until the Afghan invasion in the 12th Century. Further 20 Kms is Rajgir which was the capital of Magadha Empire. Buddha lived here for few years, leaving may traces of his time here. Upon arrival in Bodh Gaya, transfer to Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 10: Bodh Gaya
Buddha achieved enlightenment at the foot of a sacred tree and spot is marked by a pyramid. Morning after breakfast, visit Mahabodhi Temple, surrounded by a garden where pilgrims come to meditate. Visit other monasteries found in town. Overnight at the Hotel.Day 11: Bodh Gaya - Varanasi – (250 Kms)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Varanasi and upon arrival, transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day free to relax. There is an option of attending evening Aarti ceremony on Dashashwamedh Ghat of River Ganges. Overnight at the Hotel.Day 12: Varanasi
Early morning boat ride on River Ganges. Later walk through the narrow lanes and colourful bazaars to visit Kashi Vishwa Nath Temple. Return to the Hotel for breakfast and then proceed for half day sightseeing of city includes visit of Bharat Mata Mandir, Durga Temple, Benaras Hindu University and Sankat Mochan Temple. Afternoon visit Sarnath a popular Buddhist town, which is an extremely popular site for the followers of Lord Buddha. Dhamekh stupa, Dharmarajika and the museum are attraction of the site. Overnight at the Hotel.Day 13: Varanasi - Delhi by flight
Morning after breakfast, in time transfer to airport to board flight to Delhi. Meet/assist upon arrival and transfer to Hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of old and New Delhi includes visit of Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, drive past Government buildings, The Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Raj Ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Overnight at the Hotel.Day 14: Depart Delhi
Morning after breakfast, transfer to airport to board flight back to Home/onward destination.
